Sama Organization for Psychological and Social Support, in cooperation with Al-Nidal Association, organized a dialogue session in Anbar Governorate with officials, decision-makers, activists, local organizations, and a number of candidates for the Iraqi House of Representatives. The amendment to the draft freedom of expression, assembly, and peaceful demonstration was discussed, and recommendations were made to the central government, represented by the Committee to amend the draft freedom. This session is one of Watina’s campaign to amend the draft freedom of expression, which will be held in four Iraqi governorates to pressure Parliament and the Iraqi government committees to amend the articles that conflict with the origin of the right and the principles of universal human rights in the draft law on freedom of expression.
This project is part of the activity of the Innovation Network for Change in the Middle East and North Africa “Training trainers to accelerate campaigns” in cooperation with the Gulf Center for Human Rights, within the network’s main pillars: sustainability, providing civil society with resources, and working on advocacy and campaigns.
