“Dangers of drugs and their impact on society”
On the occasion of the International Day for Combating Drug Abuse and Trafficking, Al-Nidal Association for Human Rights, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior/Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency/General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs and the National Center for Voluntary Work in the Ministry of Youth and Sports, held an educational and dialogue session entitled “Dangers of Drugs and Their Impact on Society.” On Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Excellence Forum in the capital, Baghdad.

• Mr. Fakher Munther – General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs/Drug Dangers and Legal Framework
• Mrs. Inaam Moayyed – General Directorate of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Affairs/The Role of Women in Combating Drugs
• Mr. Harith Al-Saidi – Al-Nidal Association for Human Rights / the psychological and social aspect and the role of civil society
• Mrs. Janan Kazem – Administrator of Al-Ataa Hospital for drug addiction and psychological rehabilitation/adolescence and the scourge of drugs.
• Miss Aya Al-Saadi – Al-Nidal Association for Human Rights/facilitator of the session
• A group of participants from civil society organizations, community police members, researchers, and human rights activists.
The session crystallized on the importance of raising awareness about the dangers of drugs among all members of society, especially young people, the reasons for the spread of this phenomenon in society, how to address it, and identifying the most prominent challenges facing combating it and limiting its spread.
