Al-Nidal participates in a workshop to enhance voter participation and create sustainable interaction between partners in the electoral process

Al-Nidal Society for Human Rights, represented by colleague Ayat Al-Barzanji, participated in a workshop on enhancing voter participation and creating sustainable interaction between partners in the electoral process.

Organized by the United Nations Mission in Iraq (UNAMI), in cooperation with the Independent High Electoral Commission, in Erbil Governorate for the period from 29 to 31 May 2023.

Our colleague (Al-Barzanji) gave a presentation on the role of civil society organizations in civic education and voter education, and presented a number of recommendations and proposals, the most important of which is: that the Independent High Electoral Commission refer to local partners, which gives moral incentive to the working organizations and sobriety in their work, in addition to guaranteeing the rights of the active organizations in This field, and working to present a set of opportunities, challenges and proposals in the mechanisms of cooperation and work with the Independent High Electoral Commission and international bodies, which would enhance democracy, transparency and integrity in the electoral process and in all upcoming elections.
